This site is a tribute to Friedrun Schroeppel-Hayman. She will be so deeply missed, but her love, generosity and kindness will shine on in all our hearts forever as the prettiest of stars.

If you would like to make a tribute to Friedrun, instead of sending flowers, we would ask that you make a donation to St Michael's Hospice where Friedrun volunteered and where, in accordance with her sincerest wish she spent her final days with her family ever present.

Thoughts

Friedrun was an asset to our family. A beautiful soul and a rare breed. I always felt at ease and heard when speaking with Friedrun. She showed me and my son so much love and interest and was always soo hospitable in her homes. From the parties when I was younger, to our whistle stop tour of Paris with Danny, to the long drive to the airport where I learnt about her true love story with Mick. I will hold fond memories of being in her gentle presence. Her gentle nature is now passed on to her boys. Truly a beautiful women inside and out.

The volume of tributes are a testimony to how Friedrun lived life. Absolutely to the full, seizing, embracing and making the most of every opportunity that presented itself. Widely travelled and never afraid to uproot and experience living somewhere different for a while. Employing amazing skills as a homemaker and quickly establishing a new network of friends. Friedrun, you touched so many lives, Our dear friend, a great loss.

I suppose I am fortunate never to have had to write something like this before, but here goes... This is a tribute to a wonderful and very special friend to me and many others. She gave us wings and inspired us to fly and knew no boundaries. The world truly was her oyster and her friends came from everywhere. I am going to miss her terribly but her loving, embracing, kind-hearted, fun and caring spirit will live on inside me and that is just one of her many gifts. Friedrun and I share a wonderful circle of friends, many from our native Germany, and whilst that doesn’t always guarantee we’d get on – we did! Brilliantly and we are all very, very lucky for that. I was particularly grateful to have been on the receiving end of her wonderfully kind-hearted spirit over a very difficult last 5 years for me. Both her and Michael have been rocks for me and I will forever be thankful to both of them Many people are referred to as unique, but Friedrun truly was - in the very best of ways - and so we all have wonderful memories of her that we will treasure and will live on in and through us. The world is a poorer place without her. My thoughts are with Michael, Jim, Dominik and her family in Germany and in the UK. Astrid
